    Begonia Weslow is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Empower Bright Minds Psychology.Begonia is deeply committed to the professional development of future providers. Inspired by a passion for mental health, educational equity, and giving back, Begonia established Empower Bright Minds to serve the very community where she grew up. She continues to lead the practice with compassion, cultural humility, and a strong dedication to meaningful, community-centered care.

    Meet Jorge J. Alvarez, LEP #2981, LMFT #43651

    Clinical Supervisor

    Jorge J. Alvarez is a seasoned Clinical Supervisor with dual licensure as a Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). With a strong foundation as a former school psychologist, he brings decades of experience supporting children and adults across both educational and clinical settings. He is a valued member of Empower Bright Minds Psychology, providing expert supervision and mentorship to our associates.

    Meet Faviola Macias, LCSW #25500

    Clinical Supervisor

    Faviola Macias brings Empower Bright Minds Psychology a wealth of experience in working with both children and adults. As a Clinical Supervisor, she has a strong background in supporting school-aged children dealing with emotional challenges, ADHD, anxiety, and depression. Her extensive knowledge and compassionate guidance have significantly enriched our practice, offering high-quality training and mentorship to our associate clinicians. Favi is committed to fostering growth, resilience, and clinical excellence at every level of care.

    Orlando A. Figueroa

    Meet Orlando A. Figueroa, LEP #4459

    Licensed Educational Psychologist

    Orlando brings a wealth of experience, with a strong foundation in education, mental health, and student advocacy. Before becoming a school psychologist, he taught 6th grade and worked as an Intervention Teacher, Educational Advocate, and Behavior Technician—roles that deepened his understanding of diverse student needs. He specializes in psychoeducational assessments across all grade levels, with expertise in Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and Emotional Disability. Orlando is committed to delivering evidence-based evaluations and personalized recommendations that help students succeed both academically and emotionally.

    Meet Rosa Magana, B.A in Psychology,

    Executive Assistant

    We are thrilled to welcome Rosa Magaña as the new Executive Assistant at Empower Bright Minds Psychology! With over 15 years of extensive experience in administration and back-office operations, Rosa brings exceptional organizational expertise and dedicated support to our team. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge, uniquely blending her academic background with her professional skills to ensure the highest level of efficiency and client care. Rosa’s strong foundation in psychology enhances her ability to support both our clinical team and the individuals we serve, making her an invaluable part of our mission to empower brighter futures.
